       It's interesting chatting with non-tech people about the wave of age verification laws. They are broadly in favor. The same way nobody actually cared when cell phones were going to track everyone everywhere.

       @TTimo because media doesn't mention that the biggest problem with age verification isn't that kids can't access social media (though that's also bad), but that everyone has to verify their identity (and leaks will happen)

       @Doomed_Daniel they are really completely behind blocking kids from social media access. At least the ones I talked to, granted that's not a very representative sample. I don't think they quite understand how intrusive "verify everyone" is going to be (I keep thinking about all this web cookies bullshit but much much worse), but I don't think it's something that will change their mind.
