       this is something a lot of people forget. Oil doesn't go bad ( gasoline done )Electro-Chemical batteries lose charge as well as have a cost to convert from potential to stored energy.

       @sickburnbro if you covered all of the land mass in the US with solar panels, this would produce about 400K TWh per year, which is about 10x what the world needsif you covered all of the land mass in the US with oil, it would be the greatest slip-n-slide ever created, but also a great big messcheckmate oiltards

       The useful life of those $10k batteries is not infinite either. They have to be replaced every once in a while.
