       > The Quran does not provide specific guidelines on which types of wealth are taxable under the zakat, nor does it specify percentages to be given. However, it clearly indicates to donate the "surplus" of one's income. But the customary practice in the Islamic world has been that the amount of zakat paid on capital assets (e.g. money) is 2.5% (1⁄40).you mean 2.5% tax rate was something made up that everyone happened to agree on and somehow works

@cell@shitposter.world Iirc It seems that it has been established in the book Syarh al-Mumti’ and Fiqhu az-Zakat, based on the hadith of Ali ibn Abi Talib, narrated by Abu Dawud (no. 1573) and by al-Bayhaqi in Sunan al-Kubra (4/95). Yeah, it was stated that the threshold for the nishab is 2,5%, based on the calculation of half a dinar was taken out from 20 dinar after a year. So everyone's agree with that.

@cell@shitposter.world Usually Qur'an doesn't explicitly explaining the details of the fiqh side, so look out from the hadits and fatwa instead
