       @aparrish The concern isn't about racism, sexism, etc. This is about using AI to wipe out the human touch artists train for years to get right. The Unreal Engine look, built for the 2020s, sold as a solution to a problem they invented.

       @aparrish It misses the point. An AI filter over an artist's signature should be considered an insult, like chefs taking offence when customers put condiments on their food.I'll give the benefit of doubt, instead of dogpiling like I can see in the replies. In what ways is/will it perpetrate racism, sexism, etc.? I feel that needs qualification.

       @pmmeurcatpics This is subjective, dare I say reheating gamergate talking points. I was expecting a more empirical answer, given LLMs can hallucinate/confabulate and can control information access and propagation via the wishes of its creator. Hell, you could've said it's a tool to subjugate talent without having to pay for it.DLSS 5 is awful, but not because it's somehow conscious of its output. It's only following orders, and costs a lot of time and energy to produce its mediocre results. I am far more concerned about erasure and gentrification of work styles than I am about its output being perceived as an -ist or -ism. @aparrish

       @aparrish this stuff is so fundamentally not why I got into computer graphics. writing a byte into a framebuffer and having it show up on screen is fucking magic. putting some data into a buffer on a GPU and writing a shader and seeing something cool is fucking magic. waiting on an american corporation's black box to interpret "complex scene semantics" to decide what to display is depressingly empty. it's a man in the middle attack on the creative process and it fucking sucks.
