       My dryer is gaslighting me and it's not even gas powered, it's an electric heat pump dryer (edit: actually the washer is doing this not the dryer)But i've been sitting down here for at least thirteen minutes watching the 7-segment display saying 0:01 remaining.

       @malcircuit you gotta spin the clothes really fast to keep them outside the event horizon of the micro black hole sucking the water in.The timing inaccuracy comes from the unpredictability of how long it will take for Hawking radiation to make the black hole disintegrate at the end of the cycle

       @azonenberg You might like to check the extraction pump/plumbing - I think that last stage is spin until it's mostly dry and I've pumped it out so it's safe to open the door.

       @azonenberg Yeah, the evaporation rate of the micro black hole would change based on the charge and spin of the black hole, which depends upon how much water falls into the event horizon. It's hard for the machine to estimate that when you put a fresh load of clothes in.

       @azonenberg @noodle the dryer here does the same thing quite often, sticking at 0:05 for 20 or so minutes :( … haven't seen the washing machine get it this wrong yet
