Would be cool if someone would model a whole stylized city in chunks and release it as CC0 so developers can use that and make multiple games all take place in the same city.(subtle foreshadowing đź‘€)

@kenney oh that sound great actuallykinda like whats sometimes done with books, where everything plays in the same world/city, but each author has their own characters and stories (e.g., Thieves’ World comes to mind)

@kenney this is what we need instead of videos for previews of physical settings such as a university campus.

@kenney reminds me of Miyamoto's vision for Wuhu island. He talked about how the island could appear in multiple different games and be it's own character.I really like this concept! I sure would hope some one would make such a thing!

@kenney what would be genuinely insane is that and *crossplay*, across games, where players can observe the same city changing as they play different games in it; but I'm not sure how to make even a semblance of coherent game design with that.Like, imagine someone building a street racing career in a racing game, while for the "mayor" of the same city in a city building sim it's a painful crime problem. The mayor really needs the money but the bigger problem the racers are, the more money the police gets for enforcement. So racers get an incentive to limit their damage to the city. It's an obvious "jesus shot" as far as game design is concerned, but these are the kinds of ideas I had as a kid. I don't think any of them have gotten much more feasible since. Fun to ponder though.I heard of some cryptobros building something of the sort, but their "games" so far were… barely interactive. Pointless even for free. And they were selling stuff there already, like land. :blobcatfacepalm:
