       @Jes  Right?  And not just from the user perspective. I was genuinely surprised at how well a decade old laptop ran a NextCloud instance for me and my gaming table.   It's crazy what they can do when you don't shovel crap one doesn't need or want in there.

       @StevenSaus my home server is an HP laptop with the screen removed sitting behind my desktop with a usb hard drive hanging off the back. it's fast enough for what I need

       @Jes EXACTLY.  I've got an even older laptop running a few other background tasks as well.  It's pretty awesome how supposedly "outdated" hardware works just fine...

       @StevenSaus mine is like a 6th gen i3. it's slow as molasses but it's running ubuntu server with a casaOS instance and it does plenty fine. and the laptop is falling apart. the plastic is cracking and screws fell out of it. don't care since nobody needs to see it.
