       and that is why you should use RAID. i'm using RAID1 in linux (mdadm array).i got to work this morning and one of my SSDs no longer registered on lspci. only 20TB written to it so probably a power surge knocked out and shorted one of the capacitors. will fix it later and stick it in a NAS or somethingi stuck a new 2nd ssd in, and now the array is re-building. this screenshot shows why i'm not needing to reinstall linux right now. array re-syncingi also do regular data backups, so i'm safe.
