       @techokami Well so far from Gentoo it's about their own code (including recipes for the packages) but not upstream's code, although there's ongoing questions about what to do with those, like say masking the packages by default.(I guess kernel will be… "Fun")

       @lanodan Yeah that is the Big Question I have. If LLM stuff is banned, and the Linux kernel uses LLM stuff, then how does the distro handle it? Fork from an older kernel and deviate from everyone else? Or carve out an exemption specifically for the kernel? If a Linux distro stops using the Linux kernel, then it is no longer a Linux distro...

       @mirabilos @foxscribe @lanodan Okay, so... NetBSD. Sure. So uhhhh... how is the driver situation? Is WiFi still a crapshoot? Any actual support for recent GPUs? Also, is there a way to get a modern desktop environment (ideally KDE Plasma 6) onto NetBSD without having to do incredibly confusing and arcane actions?
