       As some people don't know the concept of mental load (or that it's me that haven't translated it well, sorry ....).It's the mental cost of the organization and management of the practical side of a household.Usually, even when task are split between partners, in a poly or mono household, one (usually the one identified as the woman :  it's a feminist concept) will have to organize, manage and oversee the task ( organization of chores,organizing grocery list, , answering partner or child need)...
