On this date in 1969, at the University of California Los Angeles
(not too far away from where your humble artist sits,
ordinarily), Professor Leonard Kleinrock attached the first two
nodes of the Internet's ancestor, the ARPAnet, and from thence
can be considered to be the birth of the Internet 40 years ago.
We have, at great expense and personal cost, managed to find the
backup tapes of Kleinrock's never-before-seen test message to his
undergrad student who did not yet grasp the momentousness of the
occasion. And no fair piping the RSS to a Perl script, because I
know you would never do that. Once we have translated it, it will
       appear (most likely next panel).
