From Trondheim, Norway, we got a page guiding us to the GEMINI project covering news in research in Norway.
Springer-Verlag provided us with two links to their server. One is for downloading a screen server, the other one for sending a WMY2000-postcard to a friend or someone else.
From Sweden, Christer Kiselman informed us that the Swedish
Post will issue a stamp on November 16, 2000, with a mathematical
motif, which we unfortunately cannot include in our files.
THe stamp will display Helge von Koch's snowflake curve and will
be recommended for international mail during the festive season at
the end of the year 2000. Helge von Koch (1870-1924) was a Swedish
mathematician and his snowflake curve from 1904 was one of the
first fractals (although the term fractals was not yet in use in
those days).
Events in Sweden around WMY2000 are to be found on
Christer Kiselman's
page dedicated to WMY2000.
It is a pleasure for us to attract your attention to the Newsletter of the European Mathematical Society, which is available during the congress, and of course thereafter, from the EMS. To give an idea, we include the table of contents of the March 2000 edition [ simpler version]. You may also go to the page of International Mathematical Union (IMU), where the Newsletter of the EMS are listed from 1993 to today.
Zentralblatt MATH takes this opportunity to provide you with a pdf-file of the Mathematics Subject Classification 2000 and, just to give you an idea of the printed version, a pdf-file of Zentrablatt MATH, Vol. 937
As a service for you we also include the complete Program of the 3ECM with abstracts as a pdf-file on this CD-ROM.
Two papers of manuel Diaz Regueiro on the metric geometry of a simplex and of the tetrahedron.
