@foone funny you say that, but I did a rather popular chat client that used windows 3.1 lan manager broadcast mailslots. Utterly useful but utterly unscalable outside linked broadcast domains.

Time for my regular experiment of seeing how much of my work still needs IPv4. So far I've had IPv4 disabled on my desktop for 4 hours and not noticed anything but duckduckgo and github broken. #NoNATNovember #ipv6only #ipv6

and twitter, ebay, and @BBCRD BBC but then I don't use Twitter any more.Oh, and the Microsoft Teams seems to get stuck on 'Loading latest updates... in the meantime, you can still send and respond to messages'Skype still needs IPv4, despite no longer being a peer-to-peer protocol. I don't use Skype regularly these days.Aside from that, I can do my general day job without IPv4.

@foone if they wanted you to know what it did, they wouldn't have obfuscated the code and all the source would be in the android open source repo rather than closed source magic Google voodoo.

@publicvoit LVM is quite a technicality to throw in front of a novice user. That's an issue for a lot of linux distributions - it often assumes you already know about stuff like disk partitioning, and even Linux-specific stuff like logical volumes spread across multiple disks. Many computer users these days don't even know where their data is stored, let alone care about whether you're overlaying a logical volume over disk partitions or what partition table scheme you want.
