@PublicNuisance Consumer-grade means pre-installed at purchase, with a viable app store system./e/ doesn't count since you need a cloud account.The only reasonably-priced option is the Volla phone, and that's overpriced for the hardware that's used.

As far as I can see, this rules out #iOS as well as #Android for anyone requiring privacy.#LineageOS, #GrapheneOS, etc are better in theory but it still depends on what apps you install.The only way forward is probably #Linux but we need better hardware than the #PinePhone at a reasonable price, and a better phone-oriented distro than those currently available.

I've picked up a consulting gig with an igaming multinational, and they're currently doing their HR / due diligence / legal / compliance stuff to get me on board.I have no idea what that actually entails but I'm not wanted by Interpol or Mossad so I'm probably OK.

Hosting tip:If you're using #VPS hosting for #wordpress sites and you use a plugin to do remote #backups, make sure there's enough spare space on the VPS to store your biggest site, because the plugin will need it for temporary storage.Each VPS we use stores only a handful of sites, and whenever one of them regularly goes over 50% disk usage, we upsize it. We try to keep our VPSes at approx 40% disk utilisation all the time.Also, set backup job times at least 4 hours apart.
