@inexcode this appeals to a lot of my interests. I’ve just left a 4 year stint as a documentation engineer at Protocol Labs, where I wrote a lot of English and a bit of TypeScript & Go. Been into NixOS for a bit over a year, but not an expert at managing a fleet. Here’s a thing I wrote about NixOS on Apple silicon: https://yusef.napora.org/blog/nixos-asahi/. LMK if you’d like to chat!

@finlaydag33k @NicolasRinaudo @lan the thing about professionals is that they get paid.

@finlaydag33k @NicolasRinaudo @lan sure. But professionalism is a weird thing to expect from random volunteers on the internet.

This interview with ‪@emilymbender‬ is so good. Why is it so rare to see people talking about the basic, table stakes stuff like “what is this tech actually capable of” and “who benefits from using it”? https://journal.getabstract.com/en/2023/08/03/if-it-sounds-like-sci-fi-it-probably-is/

If you’re a somewhat jaded software dev like me, @baldur ‘s Black Friday bundle is $50 well spent. The new course on web dev without node is pragmatic & full of good advice, & the books shine a light on so much of the bullshit in our industry without devolving into hopeless cynicism. Today’s the last day for the bundle: https://www.baldurbjarnason.com/bundle/2023/
