Okay, I watched the #Netflix #HeMan reboot.Is it a decent cartoon show? Maybe.Does the plot make sense? Not much. Too much new lore. Probably improvised on a bad corporate brainstorming session.Yes, they ditched He-man for most of the show. In fact, we see prince Adam in a couple of episodes, but not He-man.Some of the characters don't make much sense, either. Worse: They turned Teela into a rebel who cared more about her emotions than about anything - which is an antithesis of what she was in the original show. And it doesn't help feminism much, because they don't make women any smarter or rational. Badass? Yeah, kinda. Smarter? Nope!Furthermore: The idea of the show that was advertised was that we'd get more He-man. We barely got any He-man AT ALL.So the accusations of the show using He-man as a bait-and-switch are solid.Oh, and they killed Orko. They fucking killed Orko! 😭And by killing I mean literally. WE SEE HIM DIE.In summary: This is NOT the He-Man show you expected. By trying to make the show more "edgy", they ruined it. Pacing was awful, too. The writers did a terrible job with it. My childhood was ruined, and I regret having watched this.(Also, the She-ra reboot was an order of magnitude better.)1 out of 5. 👎😠

Today while I was exercising I reminded my hands from the sensor handle for around a minute. When I put them back, it took a while to reveal my pulse. It slowly began to raise from 0 to 130bpm.After thinking it for a while, I realized why: The bpm counter uses an analog to digital converter, and it's calibrated to a certain voltage.Everytime my heart beats, it amplifies theelectrical pulse and feeds it to a small charge capacitor so that the voltage between its terminals can remain relatively stable; then the ADC measures the voltage and gives you the pulse in bpm.Much simpler circuitry than I had imagined.Ingenious! 🤓#electronics

While I was cycling through my wallpapers, I stumbled upon this one. The picture itself is soothing, but the acrophobia it evoked made me realize this would be a perfect scene for my Visual Novel's climax:The protagonist is standing on the ledge of a building (not necessarily a corporate building, just a very tall skyscraper) as the wind tries to push you down. The enemy is behind you, and you have one final choice to make to save yourself. Make the right choice, and win the game. Make the wrong choice, and it's game over.But the right choice... it's not obvious, you have to look on your memories, inventory or activate a specific skill...it'll be glorious!And this made me realize the potential of camera angles to put the protagonist in dangerous situations. I'm in need of help.I have a couple of DVDs I need to rip and convert to MP4 format. For accessibility reasons (the end user suffers from cognitive impairment), it is required that said dvds are converted using a certain language AND the same language subtitles. The subtitles need to be hardcoded in the output video so the user won't have to go through a menu of options to display them on the screen.I've tried using k3b and handbrake, but I haven't been able to achieve the desired result.What do you recommend? I can use the linux shell if necessary, but I need to do it this week.Boosts ok. :boost_grey:
