@deprecated_ii @mischievoustomato It is remarkably difficult to do research on the modern internet with how badly they destroyed search engines. AI is worse than google 10 years ago but vastly better than modern google.

The most valuable thing I've learned about AI is that asking it to do the work for you is useless, but asking it "how can I figure out how to do the work" usually gets you advice somewhere between perfect and actionable.

@basadeskaiser @deprecated_ii I have found AI to be incredibly useful for exactly that reason. When I try to program something, the first half is producing broken useless code and the second half is debugging it into something that does what I want. With AI, I can skip the first step.

@deprecated_ii @basadeskaiser I am very bad at programming and practice doesn't seem to help. Of course I'm going to rely on tools that elevate me from "bad and slow" to "bad and not quite as slow."

I couldn't find a reference photo for something no matter what I googled, so I asked an AI to generate an image for it and it spat out exactly what I needed.Every day I grow a little more convinced: AI is a bad substitute for google before it was destroyed.

@Will2Power @lord_nougat @sickburnbro This is not correct.Many things we label as different species produce viable offspring together, such as coywolves and wholfins and prizzly bears. Humans are already a hybrid species of several extinct hominids such as Neanderthals. Nature doesn't cleanly define "species" the way humans like to. The current best estimation we have for species and subspecies is something called "fixation index" which measures the exact differences between the dna in large population groups. If we apply the rules of fixation index we use for categorizing animals, humans should be a minimum of 3 subspecies: African, Abbo, and "everyone else." "Niggers aren't people" is something with genuine scientific backing, but it comes down to where exactly the speaker defines human starting and ending. Under the provably wrong paradigm that fertile offspring = same species, niggers are people. Under the more correct paradigm that humans are several subspecies, niggers are or are not people depending on where you draw your own line.
