i'm doing some accessibility stuff at work. i don't have much experience in this area, anyone have tips or resources they rec?i'm also looking for screen reader recs as well! i'm going to try to make regular use of it so i can gain better intuition for writing accessible interfaces.please boost for visibility if you don't mind ^^

@kawaiipunk i don't mean to say that more radical things aren't possible or can't be done at the present time. however, there is some historical precedent that the change from one economic system to another takes a long time. post-capitalism will have to coexist with capitalism for at least a generation (or more). whatever we build, it has to be a lot more durable than everything that has been done in the past. the People need a much longer attention span to move beyond scarcity i think.

@Jadedsoul905 @feld web browsers embody an intense amount of complexity. there are very practical reasons why the browser duopoly is owned and funded by a mega and their non-profit sycophant. look at microsoft, they chose to exit this race because it wasn't worth the time and effort to keep up.so there's a big tax that has to be paid to participate on the web as a browser vendor. personally, i think we could do better by pursuing an alternative web-like platform.

@Jadedsoul905 @feld i think we should build alternative platforms that are easier to get into independently. i'm personally putting a lot of work into gemini and inferno/tomo. https://gemini.circumlunar.space/https://sunshinegardens.org/~xj9/tomo/conceptually i'd like a collection of gemini-sized standards for building web-like distributed applications with a more restricted scope than the web which can usefully be adopted piece-wise.https://sunshinegardens.org/~xj9/bbnet/that's just me though others may have their own ideas

@joeyh major browsers also refuse to support bit torrent, gnutella, gemini, gopher, 9p, SMTP, IMAP, and many others!!!
