Car battery failing, hot tub pump failing (luckily I bought a new pump a few weeks ago). Both now sorted. Lamp by front door failed.Hopefully that makes 3.

The world of IOT has increasing issues with remote servers. Some have been left either useless or with limited functionality after companies go bust, are taken over, or simply rule them end of life and stop supporting them. Some, especially 3rd party integrations in HA, are facing Rate limiting or active blocking causing units to lose connection as companies who thought it was a good idea to add remote access to their Washing machines, cars, TVs, etc become aware of the cost of server traffic.

@futurebird Of course the logical end is that nobody has a job and so they can't buy the products.Who would have guessed that the logical effect of AI will be UBI.

@rms There is a problem. The privatised companies were all subsided by the government, yet still failed. Now the profits will be used to remove the subsidy.

@stannard A local charity I am IT support for started using Whatsapp. I refused to use it.When your IT support refuses to use an app, it should tell you something.

problem: my phone recently started only ringing twice before it goes to voicemail.Answer: enter a code string to change it.Turns out that the code is different for each provider, and after several attempts discover that my provider has disabled it anyway! Had to message an agent, who did fix it quite quickly, but FFS!

@stannard Went through this after a high PSA test, decided against a biopsy, as the test is only 25% accurate, which meant that there was a 75% chance that I didn't have cancer.6 months later had a hi-res MRI, and diagnosis was not cancer but BPH.PSA is till tested every 12 months.

@stannardI didn't say I was anti-PSA.My PSA was 4.5, which was high but not exceedingly so at my age. When I had the HRMRI 2 years later, it had risen to 5.2.I made an informed choice and didn't have a biopsy, mainly because I had a friend who got an infection afterwards and ended up in hospital despite the biopsy being "inconclusive".We all have to make our own decisions on the probabilities.Nowadays HRMRI is recommended before a biopsy.

@Flick Considering that any aid would be appropriated by the Isrealis, it would be ponitless carrying it I suppose. And Isreal is a corrupt nazi state, no doubt about that, with the blood of 70000 people on it's hands.

@kravietz It's as if they don't understand what freedom of movement was about.People go where the jobs, conditions and remuneration are good, which means the states they leave behind have to improve those things to lure them back. In other words, you eventually end up with a level field and life improves for everyone.Of course, that is what the wealthy business owners hate.
