I witnessed a #meme actually happening in real life!A guy at the self service checkout was getting increasingly irate and bellowed at a passing staff member that he wanted to speak to the manager.The manager turned up and asked how she could help. What followed was a furious rant about how the machine wouldn't accept his Tesco Clubcard.The manager quietly delivered this immortal line:"Sir, this is a Morrisons."

This big boy arrived today. New Old Stock, with a recapped AT power supply. 486-DX2 66 feels right for this one. I was going to go Pentium II but it doesn't feel right now I have the thing in front of me.I never thought I'd get the #retrocomputing nostalgia feeling for something like this, but I'm on board with it.

@adamd That looks great! This one needs to be a 486 too. Right now it's a Pentium II, purely because that's the AT motherboard I had on the shelf. I'll swap it out once everything is set up. I'm happy I've finally worked out the jumpers to get the LED display under control :-)

I think a lot of people don't get what "billionaire" really means. Chatting to a neighbour yesterday, they mentioned that the owner of their company is a "millionaire or billionaire or something..."When I said that those are two very different things, they just looked at me quizzically.They got the difference when I put it like this:£1 Million stacked in £20 notes is as high as your house.£1 Billion stacked in £20 notes is almost 4 miles high.That one letter makes all the difference.

A few weeks ago, I sent my 1985 Swiss Army Knife back to Victorinox for a broken blade replacement.It came back today, fully repaired, cleaned, polished, lubricated and in a new box.Total cost: £10 + return postage.They sent the knife back with an invoice. I didn't have to pay a penny before the job was done.A product that's been out of production for almost 40 years, repaired at very little cost by the original manufacturer.I'm stunned. Happy, impressed, grateful and stunned.
