@Raspberry_Pi I can read the label. I think there was a song about those https://youtu.be/bbr60I0u2Ng

@mmu_man @doctorow This seems far more positive than owning the means of production. Producing things we don't need, to create capital seems a large part of what ails humanity; along with controlling things when we don't need to.

@stux People know what they are willing to pay just to get somewhere. It isn't enough to get tech billionaires interested, so they feel the need to sell us 'a lifestyle choice' they can over-charge for. Most of us don't want or can't afford that. Getting people where they want to be is a Big Government problem. It enables other value creation which can fund public transport.

@billt Same thing? I remember the day I realised that although power generation is mostly physics with civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, the whole Electricity Supply Industry market is a computer simulation :-).

@lowqualityfacts This thinking seems to prevail in any 'community' that considers hierarchical structures to be a good thing.

@stux Try that question again, with "ever" instead of "always"? If anything is in everyone's interest, you don't need to mention the wealthy in the question.

@GeofCox @_bydbach_ @ChrisMayLA6 Could it be both? The extremists demonstrate what the reasonable people may become if there is no change. Perhaps exploitative people need to be scared out of their complacency. The exploiters are not reasonable people either.

@rms It's a good idea but I'm not sure many journalists are sufficiently numerate to understand. Many seem to be failed politicians.

@futurebird Trump needs to lead a national team into battle (unless he's too scared) if he wants to be The Big Cheese. Warning: the video contains some 'Australian accent' English.Take a look at this annual Gloucestershire 'cheese rolling competition' https://share.google/pEO5MglQSMIEpUeoG

@rms No, that's a very misleading statement. The current Labour party is more authoritarian than I'd like but UKIP/Reform and 'Conservatives' are the increasingly Christo-fascist parties following the Trumpian template.

@Nonilex Binary choices are a popular meme with Far Right liars. In the UK, Brexit was Leave or Remain. General Elections are Far Left or Far Right; 'First Part The Post' or 'Hung Parliament'. Clearly they aren't. The first election after people believed the lies and voted against AV, we had a hung parliament.

@aral They are Wrong. The brand is losing value fast. We were loyal to the original idea not this one.

@Nonilex OK, we'll stop buying American goods until he's gone. Simple solutions do sometimes work, even if his cag-handed brain-fart form of fascism doesn't.

@rms Did they check them before they used computers? By this logic, starting to use social media in my forties gave me ADHD.
