There is a special circle of hell for developers who merge a huge change into main that spectacularly breaks the test suite in many and varied ways, then immediately disappear for several weeks.(We will ignore, for the purposes of our rage, a setup that allows broken tests to merge to main; that's a hill I've given up dying on)

@jackscottau LLMs are my retirement plan. I figure five years of no juniors being hired "because AI can do it instead", and by the time the bubble fully disintegrates the pipeline for senior people who know what they're doing will be drier than a Margaret River Shiraz. It'll be like the late 90s market for COBOL programmers all over again...

@foone it's fine, though, because everyone just embeds 14MB of JavaScript (that has zero cache control headers, so it gets downloaded and parsed on every page load) to provide a half-arsed GUI toolkit. Further, since there are more of these libraries than there are JS developers, no two sites look, feel, or behave the same.*takes deep, relaxing breath*Thankyou, I feel better now.
