@Ladyfat Pretty sure Neopets was my first foray into english internet, and that might have been around my first classes into the language as well so my clicking on there was a bit random in addition to the general slowness and the cap on monthly data of internet back then!

@Thais21 @Hollahollara @polarisera I've been much more ok with the dumbness of flags when I realized that it was just a typical child thing to come up with. I remember rolling my eyes at my classmates in middle school sending each other these asslong lists of personal questions they delighted to fill. Well who is on tumblr coming up with these moronic flags? The same crowd, in a different generation. It sure is a bit weird to see flags all over the place now, but it's almost weirder to even interact with them as an adult in any capacity — seems more like something to ignore, really. Child herd shite.

My point is that trends with overcrowded bullet lists are not new and originate from dumb kidland.

I always said at some point there was a cultural shift and the "alternative" or misfits kiddies that had existed all along became the new mainstream (albeit in not very original ways). Anyone 30+ has probably missed the mark of being the cool nerd one. Nerds were uncool back in the days.
