McConnell has said if RBG dies, they will rush through the next SCOTUS process, despite what they did with Merrick Garland. I think both parties don't give a shit about liberal democracy anymore. restoring that is up to us.

People don't need religion, they need community. But a deeply shared understanding of the world is needed to feel that sense of community, which religion provides. But accepting the supernatural elements of religion makes you less demanding re: facts, logic and human affairs.

anybody else know of trouble running a #mastodon v2.9.3 instance on @yunohost on #DigitalOcean? (also can't update it) keeps crashing. sometimes it brings the rest of #YunoHost with it. sometimes it just needs a reboot. sometimes in needs a restore from backup. thanks.

@BernieOrVest I think Democracy Now and magazines like The Nation, In These Times etc have served as a left "echo chamber" for years. But they were hard to access pre-internet, and hard to share pre-social. I want liberal media, of both the left and right. Unafraid (non-corporate non-government etc) in pursuit of relevant facts and good-faith argument. And I want it to get the most attention and respect.

I don't like #NeverPete #NeverTrump etc intraparty arguments. As much as I hate parties and most candidates suck, where and when it matters, always vote for the least evil. But then also support reforms so that our politics can better represent the will of the people.

@nickchuckwalterdealing with parties and primaries sucks, but I advocate voting for your favorite candidate in those. in the general, vote for the least evil that can win, where and when your vote matters. otherwise, try to make a statement, third party or otherwise.
