@dushman @raccoon Hmmm. Very interesting. Makes me wish I had some inputs to try out... ;>)

@futurebird Norton is absolutely a waste of money. Free but rudimentary tools will do the job. Keeping your Windows PC safe is more about good habits than software. Also, as Myotis_cuniculus@flipping.rocks says, checking for boot-time services that are gumming up the works is a big one. I'm referring mainly to the ones listed in Task Manager. Your Adobes and such...

@raccoon I use Newsflash on Linux. I dig it. I don't use one on my phone.

@raccoon Gotcha. I'll keep an eye out. I've never seen any hacks for it, but I haven't been looking either... ;>)

@raccoon Well, I think one of the nice things about Mastodon is that I'm not obligated to follow anyone just because they follow me. And I don't think anyone takes it personally. If that helps. I usually do a courtesy follow, though...

@Nonilex Sowing chaos is the point. To establish a new world agenda. Trump isn't smart enough to come up with this on his own. He simply enjoys having the power to break things like a child would. For Trump and his ilk (like Musk), this is petty revenge. And it won't end well for him or us...

@Nonilex These are attack vectors. Probing defenses, finding the weaknesses. Oddly, many Republicans are playing TOO MUCH ball with it all. Trump is a useful idiot with a lot of useful idiot supporters, but how do you move them in a certain direction without alerting AOC or Berny Sanders, etc. I know I sound like a crazy asshole, but this is the only scenario that makes sense to me...

Love that Apple is promoting Apple Intelligence for school. Also love that they have co-opted "AI" as "Apple Intelligence". By love I actually mean hate. Disgraceful. I've never felt so stupid for owning a Mac Mini M2. If I could make it into a full-fledged Linux box, I would, and I can assure you that AI will NEVER be on it...

@raccoon Thanks, buddy! I have plenty of computers, and I actually liked the Mac until they started pushing AI like Microsoft. I'm still deciding what my best move is. I may donate it...

@raccoon Sure thing! I can't afford to donate either, but I despise the economy of selling things. I'd rather donate it to teach children or something like that...

@raccoon Microsoft didn't do that for me. Some will be happy with it. Some will explore. I don't really see a downside as long as learning is involved.
