@polychrome @rick_777 In college I built a solid-ish prototype for a bluetooth mesh network, and it only took me like a week or two. Alls I’m saying is go for it 🤷🏻♀️

@Gargron I’ve simply added a lowest-priority “maintenance” queue for the tootctl tasks, and it doesn’t cause any visible slowness on the rest of the app.

Because the S3 "s3cmd" command is so slow, I've instructed my poor old server to go out to each and every instance it knows about and redownload profile photos and the like. It's likely to keep going for an hour or so, but! Many of my friends' photos are back, which is nice.
