       It seems to me that a lot of people don't realise what Tumblr integrating with ActivityPub is. It will allow you to follow and receive messages across platforms but this doesn't mean that you will be able to use a Mastodon acc and tools on Tumblr and vice versa. The two places generate different content and have different cultures which will not change.Think about it as an EU of sorts where countries cooperate but are still distinct.#Mastodon #Tumblr #MastodonMigration

       Here’s something that Twitter expats are not really understanding, not using hashtags on Mastodon is the reason your engagement is underwhelming. Mastodon doesn’t have a search function nor an algorithm to surface inflammatory nonsense all the time. Unless you tag your post it’s only going to reach your followers at the time of posting.        @simon I reckon that if you’re a popular person it’s easier to get boosts because you have an established following, but I see a lot of journalists coming in with 200-300 followers, post with no discoverability in the middle of the night and then wondering why they get no engagement 🤷‍♀️
