@housepanther I mean if you look at the history. Slavery, Jim Crow, church bombings, lynchings, the hate laws being enacted now across the country. This is a continuous thread. I'm hopeful that people are starting to realize that trump wasn't some kind of anomaly. It's hard for white people to admit the real history.

@Wolven It's the greatest challenge. How to immediately teach a society who has internalized and externalized violence to have empathy. I think about this all the time and try to demonstrate empathy? So much work to do.

The bad news, sunshines, is the fash have a helluva head start on everyone else and are imbedded with police.Also, any good thing that appeared to come top down, was only possible because people marched and died for those good things. A violent settler-colonial state never gives anything without a meaningful threat.

@RickiTarr @Ulrich_the_Elder idk why people build these identities. One theory I've heard is it's just something endemic to settler colonial societies where the individual is everything. How this turns in to a mass insecurity, I have no idea. Interesting to note, the anti-maskers were a thing during the "spanish" flu pandemic. In MN patrols were driving through BIPOC neighborhoods taking pot shots, allegedly with rubber bullets, at people on porches. @Aviva_Gary @mekkaokereke Yes, I added blue state just for perspective as in can/will happen anywhere.What I didn't get in to is police state violence against communities. People don't like to hear it but the US is an authoritarian police State whether the military is participating directly or not.

For the anglosphere, people are like, "yeah, maybe we should get around to that".
