       @selea monetization and revenues generation is not the common denominator here that you are looking for. It is the number priority, goal, mission and vision for these companies: generating profits. If an organisation is profit-driven, it can't sustainably become people-driven. Call it enshittification, or whatever you like, but it is all the same pattern: capital first, people second.

       @selea once again, as come with most web issues, Google is to blame. SEO and other totalitarian standards by Google have made surfing the internet a nightmare even for the most experienced. They incentivise spammy, outdated content in favour of centralised silos and completely arbitrary checklist of things that are not related to content quality, usefulness for the users, or even relevancy of the search queries at times.

       @pixelfed I was curious about Pixelfed so I wanted to download it on my phone. Apparently the website only leads to a Google Play store link, and the code repository has no documentation nor built APKs.By excluding F-Droid in this toot as well, I guess it makes sense the direction you are taking with the app.Unfortunate.

       I really want to like BSD, Redox and all the other kernels...but no copyleft means it's up for grabs. Linux is already suffering from the unfree drivers (possibly would've been avoided by switching to GPLv3, if it was feasible)
