@calebccff: I understand from an ease of use perspective.You've got to consider the people behind those numbers are real people too. I wouldn't want my number publicly accessible on a website without any kind of protection from bots scraping it and adding it to all sorts of spam lists.

@metalune Curious to know why elementary?I installed it because I enjoy macos but wanted to use a FOSS OS. I found that its a pretty half baked attempt at being macos like that it is worse for my muscle memory than just learning something new 😭😂

@metalune it might not be any more but that was certainly the goal at one point. my main issue was hotkeys/shortcuts. some were macos like and some were more traditional windows/Linux style. I just wish they would pick a scheme and stick with it.

🧵2 / N... I don't feel overwhelming guilt if I need a sick day or a mental health day. I get to work with my fiance, being able to employ her and have her help me with so many aspects of my job brings us so much joy and deliver amazing work. @danslerush @hackaday I normally like this guys videos... enough to watch him on YouTube with ads enabled 🤯But I really disliked his sponsor read for this video where he says talking to friends and family about mental health can burden them so they should use a paid therapy service instead. I think that's really dangerous advice.

@mjdxp @LinuxLounge I would highly recommend waterfox. not only is it privacy focused (not to the point your browsing experience is impacted) but it also maintains features that Mozilla have dropped from mainline Firefox. It also doesnt crash and need a clean reinstall after 6 months of usage.

@LinuxLounge @mjdxp it was and I too was skeptical but they also own startpage and have done so for a while and so far the integrity of that service doesnt seem to have been compromised.

@duponin slight tangent, can I ask what the appeal of source hut is for you? I currently host a gitea instance and when I compare it to source hut I just cant see the appeal. There's got to be something im missing though as people seem to love it.
