@aral I read about the hideous murder on :lemonde.fral jazeeranew york timesetc.I also have friends that don't read news because it strongly focus on negative events (for sales yes) and they are still my friend.How many hours a week do you take to read about various conflicts around the world? does not reading about them amount to white privilege? Maybe some people don't want to use mastodon for this type of content and it is ok by me.Please reconsider

@laetsgo ça ne me choque pas... qand ça vient à l'utilisation d'un site ou d'une appli, la plupart des gens aiment la simplicité (et son même prêts à sacrifier leur informations personelles) je crois que c'est comme ça que whatsapp et ensuite signal sont devenus si populaires... mais on voit le paradoxe, signal qui est une messagerie qui respecte la vie privée demande un indentifiant très unique (# de tel) les autres alternatives (ex : matrix.org) sont moins populaires pour cette raison...

@stefano yes, sad that you block legitimate good people, but moderating an instance is not a responaibility that should be taken lightly... the more the userbase on your instance grow, the more the moderation can be time consuming... I guess a solution for smaller instances is to limit the number/languages of their users to keep the moderation a feasible task.

@justafrog @futurebird I think it is time for a opt-in search engine based on reputation (wiki like) where you pledge to submit no ai (to the best of your knowledge) and respect the rules, every entry is manually checked by volunteers and then the index is distributed to the masses.violations get all your content removed, trust is gained by submissions and you can gradually increase your submissions as you gain trust.thinking about this lately.
