@fristi @mametsuko Blij dat ik niet de enige ben die dat vindt. Maar Mame moet natuurlijk gewoon van zijn eten genieten.

@selea Have you already decided whether you're going to block them? I voted block on your poll and I stand behind that but I'm also kinda curious... @sotolf @paul

@selea What would that mean for users (like me)? Would I be able to see messages from there if someone I follow reposts them? Can people on there find and follow me if someone retoots my posts? I assume they'd only be hidden on the global timeline + I need to approve follows, am I correct? @sotolf @paul

@mansr @stux maybe that number has called them before and they didn't know who it was so they added them to their contacts as "unknown number" :thonking:

@stux @yakumo_izuru It would be pretty bad for the environment to get all of the people and materials into space in order to build something up there (or on another planet). That is a problem that would need to be overcome first imo

@stux @yakumo_izuru If it could find everything it needs to build stuff wherever we send it, that could work. But we would still need to also send a few people into space if we want to colonize anything. And they'd probably want to visit earth sometimes or the other way around. The planets in our solar system are pretty boring from what I've seen.I did see a kurzgesagt video a about terraforming Mars. Maybe we should do that before sending anyone because it's harder if people live there already

I started at uni this year and this week we had a really fun exercise. We had to make a rock, paper scissors algorithm in C and the idea is that the algorithms would compete against each other and the people with the best 3 algorithms would get an extra point. We'll get the results next week. I really liked the exercise because it allowed me to think outside of the box. I ended up making an algorithm that looks through /proc and runs the opponent to see what its answer would be.

It's not really formal and I wasn't sneaky about it or anything so I think it's okay. And otherwise, I'll just not get that extra point.I hope that their test software for the competition is the same as the one we got because based on it I assumed that in the competition all executables would also be put in one directory. And I used /proc, which works differently on different Unixes and some don't even have it.

@BrodieOnLinux I think it's probably a joke. I'm just wondering whether he wrote it all by himself or if he used ChatGPT.

@stux The things he posts on Truth social sound ironic but millions of people take it seriously.

@stux Sad but interesting to see how someone like him can delude so many people by crafting his messages using certain language in order to vilify people with a different opinion than his own.

@lps There are other e-mail clients (like #thunderbird ) that have easy support for PGP encryption.

@lps I don't have any experience with this particular program but I know it's not hard to set up PGP in thunderbird. It has no mobile version though. They're working on adapting K-9 mail to be their mobile version. I think that one has PGP support too, although I don't know how easy it is to setup

@stux I doubt you'll find a lot of republicans on here. You should try Truth Social (/j of course)
