@boilingsteam I would use it more, but I kept going through this cycle where I would have too many to manage, and then I'd switch software and just start over. No #RSS reader prioritized saving time. But yes, in the infrequent case (now) when I really want to follow a feed that I can't follow on the fediverse, I will try to get a rss feed. And no, I will not sign up for their (f*cking) newsletter.

@Jdreben @supernovae You're probably familiar with capitalism being called amoral, IE not immoral but ROI is a higher priority. Well. #meta, or, more specifically: it's leadership, has really shown us how much overlap there is in the venn diagram between amorality and immorality. Isn't there a list somewhere of all their misdeeds? I couldn't tolerate any more after their 2010 fckup they called "instant personalization", but that was Valdez compared to other Deepwater Horizons.

@Jdreben @supernovae nobody likes #meta. Somehow, people still use it. I can't understand. I am here because I believe FLOSS has a solid moral value system, and so I feel good about contributing. For moral reasons, we must draw a line somewhere. Where to draw the line? I don't know, but let's talk about all the ways they might try to take over the #fediverse. Because you know they're talking about it.

@thenewoil i've tried them. I always found that they made the screen less sharp and effectively lower resolution, but that was probably 10 years ago. Has privacy screen tech gotten better?

@ajroach42 search, crawling, curation, and rendering of interfaces to those systems needs to be disintermediated. Individuals need to each have powerful tools for navigating the world they are connected to.

@delta having *the same app* bridge people on existing email infra to the #privsec crowd has always been the biggest strength I appreciated Delta Chat for. forking, dropping legacy SMTP, or any such abandonment of that bridge would turn Delta Chat into just another chat protocol in my eye. if I'm going to push people to adopt secure messaging, Signal would always be the easier sell.

@futurebird truth.I have been saying all along the true value of AI is as a reflection of ourselves. For some problems, should programmers and CEOs even try to fix it?If you held the first mirror in history, would you hesitate to look?When talking about a machine, people seem to at least agree that it's a problem to do something about.I wonder if there is a model trained to be as close to real people as possible, warts and all?
