i've seen some people talking about this, but i think it bears repeating...information given freely does **not** carry a social obligation of reciprocity. don't let anyone make you feel otherwise.some people will tell you things about themselves in the hopes that you'll in turn tell them something about yourself you otherwise wouldn't. they choose to do that without any kind of prior agreement. you don't owe them anything for that.people doing things unprompted are not owed.

i really wish fewer people would return http 451 for european union ip addresses. "we choose to make this unavailable to users who have rights under the law" does not fall under "unavailable for legal reasons"

just watched a cop being pushed back by the crowd... in the sense that the guy in front of the crowd would walk towards the cop, and the cop would quickly pace back a bit, then stop and try to hold his ground.at the beginning of the video, the cop held nothing in his hands. then he grabbed a baton and did not use it during the duration of the video. they chased the cop up like 2 flights of stairs in this manner.it's straight up just Safe to be a white supremacist.

thinking it could be cool to have a program that generated a whole fake history on your computer. like you could run it on a fresh install, and it would populate a bunch of saved memes and photos and music and browser settings and idk maybe social media accounts or something (although i imagine that'd be a lot harder) all backdated appropriately to make it seem like you'd had that computer & os set up for some period of time.

a friend wants to use a free os but currently does a lot of windows gaming. supposing they can't use windows at all, is there a good option for them to run their windows games? can reactos handle games? is gaming with wine (or playonlinux) viable for gaming in 2021?i know this is a huge topic people talk about all the time, but i don't play video games much, so i've mostly ignored it.thanks for any advice!
