I'm currently travelling from #Graz to #Vienna by train, where I will spend a couple days with friends and family, before I will go to Vietnam for a whole month for a motorbike tour next Wednesday 🛵Really looking forward to this vacation, especially the amazing food and the warmth 🍜🌞Also I'm finally finding some time to work on my #Nix config for my #SteamDeck while having a beer in the #DiningCar

@dave31175 I'm considering signing up, but I was wondering if one can also easily export one's collection from letterboxd?Since it is not Open Source, I would like to be able to get my data in case their services ever shut down. Otherwise I'm not sure if I want to bother manually entering each film I've seen.

@hyde Without counting every single one, I think I'm just shy of a hundred of the films on this listI have seen "Grand Budapest Hotel" at least five times and as recently as last week on my plane ride to Vietnam to comfort me on a stressful flight 😅✈️It is one of my absolute favourites."Fight Club" is another one I've seen multiple times 🧼

@hyde Besides that I recommend you watch "Memento". It's on this list as well and IMO very deserving of its spot.I reckon that if you've liked "Fight Club", you will like "Memento" as well

@hyde @dave31175 Yeah, that would be wonderful!!I was just checking out if there were Open Source alternatives to letterboxd on https://alternativeto.net/software/letterboxd/about/If exporting one's data was possible on letterboxd, I would consider using it until an Open Source alternative comes along

@hyde Unfortunately none 😐But I think that also has to do with not many of my friends being on social media that are comparable to Mastodon.AFAIK most of my friends just use Instagram, some still use Facebook for events and messaging. Therefore projects like Pixelfed or Mobilizon might be more interesting for them, but I expect to be able to convince them to join and stay, the userbase would have to be much bigger than it is right now...

@hyde Oh, you watched it right away 😁I hope you are not disappointed that I suggested you watch it.I can see how not everyone would enjoy the befuddlement the film leaves behind.I remember enjoying exchanging interpretations of what we'd just seen after watching it for the first time with my best friend

I just packaged a #cpp application for #NixOS for the first time and after understanding how to use patches with #Nix, it was surprisingly straightforward :blobfoxcofemlem: For anyone interested, the application is a clone of the Windows task manager for Linux and even though it is still in early development, IMO it looks quite good. @Meowie_Gamer I blocked the whole noagendasocial.com domain a while ago and my experience on Mastodon has been much better since!Their server seems to be an unmoderated shithole that attracts loads of bigots.
