@TQ Oh, I’ve had discussions with people about photography… Did you know that because digital cameras have autofocus and auto exposure, photos don’t reach the artistic level that they deserve copyright?

Oh, I had forgotten that the Chagossians were originally forcefully settled as slaves on the islands by the French. Even after abolition there was no choice for people on the islands but to work on the plantations. Six generations later the British move everyone to Mauritius, specifically to avoid scrutiny from the UN decolonisation committee, so the US could have a military base in that region.So, yeah, maybe .io domains look less fancy if you know that history.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expulsion_of_the_Chagossians

@tauli yeah, I have a few friends who use it, so I can even ask people if I have a problem. For the problem I wanted to solve, it was quicker to use a different tool I already knew.It’s just a pity that any open source tool with a certain complexity ends up as “learning the tool is harder than the thing you’re trying to make” user experience for simple problems. Image manipulation program or Inkscape, to mention two that I can use relatively well.Simple tasks should be simple to achieve imo. They often aren’t with foss.

@Julia_Schmeer I’m using an Ankararum Assistent. The best mixer for bread and other heavy doughs. It was very expensive but totally worth it.It’s a bit too large when I bake a small bread though, I have to help it to pick up the dough then. 😅
