@thinking_images @ChrisWere The thing I most like about LMDE is that the Base system is from Debian. Ubuntu is great. They were the first distribution of Linux that was made for humans, as it was marketed. But since Ubuntu is a product of Canonical, any decisions the Company makes will affect Ubuntu, hence will affect Linux Mint proper, which is based on Ubuntu. Debian is a community Linux distribution. Changes to the distro would have to be "seen by many more eyes" before being implemented.

@matthewDynabook purchased Toshiba, apparently.See the Company History:https://us.dynabook.com/company/dynabook-historyMy very first laptop was a Toshiba Satellite 1715XCDS.https://support.dynabook.com/support/modelHome?freeText=1073769664It had Windows Millennium Edition. 😩Later, I was able to install Red Hat Linux 9 (Shrike), and later, Fedora Core 1 and 2.It had an Intel Celeron 600MHz processor and a whopping 64 MB of RAM. I upgraded the RAM to the maximum amount of 128 MB. I upgraded the 6 GB Hard Disk Drive to 20 GB.

@matthew thanks for the information. I need to check FLinux. The screenshot looks very nice. It would be great for very old computers that used to run Windows 95/98/2000.Edit: I'm guessing FLinux would run really fast on computers that used to run Windows XP/Vista.
