@joaocosta - did you know that Ukrainian railways were blocking the transit of goods to Poland from 30 Nov 2021 until almost the start of the war?You have zero empathy for Polish farmers and truckers whose livelihood is in danger by illegal import of food to Poland, by illegal blocking of Polish truckers in Ukraine (12 day waits for permit to leave), by illegal activities of Ukrainian truckers in the EU.Such attitude turns Poles from the most supportive to lukewarm, or hostile.

@kravietz - and as far as I know there is also the problem of Ukrainian drivers transporting goods inside the EU (cabotage), which they are not allowed to do.

@kravietz - it gets complicated, as Polish firms also employ Ukrainian drivers living in Poland, who could compete with Ukrainian drivers living in Ukraine, provided they didn't need to wait 12 days to return, but cannot go to Ukraine, because they are not exempt from draft... Also Ukrainians are registering companies in Poland to provide services in the EU... The core of the issue is that one way or another, Polish truckers and freight companies, like Polish farmers, are losing livelihoods.

@AlgorithmWolf - the US fined Volkswagen, the EU did not "cripple" Volkswagen or exclude them from contracts, as far as I know.Whoever did this at Newag needs to be charged and servicing companies and customers need to be compensated for the loss of revenue.I wonder if making programmers go through certification/registration process like engineers would limit unethical behaviour. If a programmer was personally responsible for the damage their code does, through negligence or international.

... another interesting point: the host, Dan Miller was supposed to go to space on the space shuttle, he declined, as it turned out luckily for him because he would be on the Challenger which exploded during launch. The NASA manager who approved the launch was asking engineers a wrong question: can you 100% guarantee that there will be a catastrophe?Are we doing something similar with the risks of climate change? Risks so high, we would never accept them if they applied for example to flying.

There is an urban improvement project going on in Warsaw, Poland called "Nowe Centrum Warszawy" - new centre of Warsaw.One of the sub-projects is about the main east-west artery called Aleje Jerozolimskie - Jerusalem Avenue. #GoldCoast #BusShelter designs in #Coomera and #Oxenford. The newest provides the least sun/rain protection. The oldest was the most enclosed. Placement of the bus stop and shelter is important too. The first one is in full sun in the mornings. People stand in the shade behind it. This stop should be moved 60 metres where the road turns 90 degrees.The shelters should also never be placed on the path, or behind it, as then they create conflict with mobility scooters and bikes. #Australia

Hot summer morning. This bus shelter doesn't shelter from sun (or rain, unless it falls straight down, the bench is usually wet when it rains). Cannot really hide behind it because of the fence/plants, and also because this is an on-demand stop. If you don't hail the driver, they don't have to stop. What else? No transport network map.
