Looks like the stats are only displayed for tweets since Dec. 16 local time here... which was (coincidentally?) "#bloodyThursday".But the data exists for all of them. If you only wanted to display it for tweets after you announced the change, the threshold would be different. Otherwise, imagine pretending the data didn't exist until last week, when it's been right there all along.Makes no sense. That place just gets more twisted.

If I wanted to conduct an AMA on #Mastodon (very hypothetical), without having people all send questions directly to my mentions, what would be the best way to do it?Because if I asked people to send questions using a hashtag, I wouldn't necessarily see their questions — not unless I followed them or someone on my instance followed them.Have seen group accounts that relay messages, but am wondering what the best "native Mastodon" approach would be.

I don't feel as much like I'm competing to be heard on #Mastodon as I did on #Twitter. And while there are probably lots of reasons for that, I can't help but wonder how much of it was caused by an algorithm persistently starving users of interaction they actually brought to the platform with their social graph, in order to sell it back to others for profit. Even now, I don't think most people understand how distorted their timelines are. I didn't.

Images often take so, so long to load on #Mastodon and it's one of the things that is putting me off of the platform more than anything else. Every time I click the blurry square, 15 seconds of spinning icon and still no photo, and then I usually give up. I don't know who tested this and said "yeah, this'll do".

@janl You already know it's something the community would rather not have. That's why you're couching this in such defensive language and bracing to get resistance from #Fediblock. Now every user who doesn't want their toots cached on an external system they don't even know followers are using has to add nosearch tags to their bio? How secure is your storage? And just creating this sets a precedent others will emulate. Not sold on this at all. Go back to Twitter. #Mastodon #search

Really hope @Gargron and people with an interest in #MastoAdmin (and #Fediblock) are aware of the new #Searchtodon utility that apparently let's any user maintain a searchable index of all the toots visible to them from the accounts they follow. It doesn't seem like the issue of user #consent has been fully addressed. Users are expected to #OptOut with a tag in their bio without even knowing the tool exists.
