@Gargron I think I would lead with the fact that Mastodon isn’t privacy-invasive/surveillance-based, that it’s decentralised, and that it’s federated. A privacy-respecting universe of universes of some sort, where people can just pick the instance they feel they belong to.

@calculsoberic @techducks @Tutanota My "Why indeed" was directed at tech-ducks' post.It's not that Telegram's Secret Chats are not secure (even though they're limited to 1:1 chats and use an encryption protocol that isn't as widely regarded as the Signal Protocol used by Signal, WhatsApp, etc..). The point is that Secret Chats are not the default. This means that most people will use chats that are not e2e encrypted thinking they're more private/secure than WhatsApp's when in fact they aren't.

@libreoffice That's good news 🙂You might want to reduce the size of the app icon on macOS a bit, because it really looks out of place at the moment (particularly in the Dock)..

@Maescool Not sure if this is available on Mastodon v3.5.3 but on 4.0.0 (which is currently a release condidate but already deployed on various Mastodon servers) you can follow hashtags as well. This is not yet supported on the official Mastodon app, but it is available from the web UI.

@meneer I know, and that feature has always been there. I just thought I'd also mention the ability to follow hashtags and have related posts show up in your home feed directly (instead of having to enable the advanced web interface and pin each hashtag to a feed of its own).@Maescool @helix2301 @rysiek @tek @jerry @drwhax
