I've saved memes for years but never really looked in that folder. They're all good for points made well, but you know, kind of hostile. People don't listen when they are angry. So I thought I'd clean out that folder and delete the confrontational stuff. I'm finding it's not just fluff that's left, some of it makes a good point, gently.

The nutrients Venus flytraps receive from insects allows them to blossom, and create seed. They bloom far above their deadly traps, to ensure the safety of their pollinator friends, only taking the lives they need to as they dance the dance of survival for those who fit. Their niche is delicate, the balance of their environment is easily damaged, but their strategy still shows remarkable adaptability and resilience, even cooperation. My pink oyster mushrooms. These are the same jar, but a few days apart, the pink fades as it ages. Also the same one that was releasing spores in my video. A single jar has so many changing landscapes to explore. Want to see my shame? I am 47 years old, I started looking at the ground everywhere I walked trying to identify the weeds I saw when I was a pre-teen. Always staring down. Always too afraid of touching mushrooms to knock them over for a good look. This many years, and until I got a book to help me learn to identify them, I had no idea that not all mushrooms have gills. The veggie powder ("fairy dust" for the kiddo's food) is actually rather tasty. It now has carrots, green beans, peas, and beets. I tried some, it's lightly sweet, just beety enough to cover the pea flavor, without being too beety. A good start.Part of why I'm doing this is my daughter's immune system seems to be suffering from her picky habits, so I did my first indoor ginger harvest :). I put the rhizomes with the largest root systems back in. I might try a little orange peel next.

@futurebird @annecavicchi One of my best friends in high school figured out that if she came over in the morning when I was still in bed, she could get me before I had any coffee and was more compliant with "Get ready, we're going." She'd never tell me where, just hand me the to-go cup of coffee she brought and make me get dressed. Otherwise, I'd start an art project or reading my book, and that was it, I'd be in my bedroom all day. Grandma loved her.
