When you are surrounded by vibrant, independent, and awesome women, it is so jarring to encounter a self/woman-hating woman. I really forget the level of resentment towards others and desperation for male attention that self-hating women have in them. It's so hearbreaking and sad to see. I just hope that one day they all wake up and learn that sisterhood is powerful and that they are deserving of respect and following their own path.

I'm feeling so sad. I might be getting a job offer from a different company that would be a major step up... But it would mean leaving my boys and some women who I feel like I was meant to meet in my life. My fun and totally silly print shop job will be replaced with high intensity and an older more serious team... Never again will I get to witness 4 guys run out of a building to attempt to smoke a Twix bar. Or have to explain to the most well-meaning and sheltered kid why you can't ask a woman if she's on her period. (He wanted to make sure I never got a rush order while on my rag ever again lol). I'm gonna MISS MY BOYS!

They are teens and want to do their own thing and are striving for independence, yet they are still dependents and not able to properly care for themselves yet.I remember saying "CHILD LABOR" every time my mom asked me to do boo. Although I never had the courage to say that to my gran! 😂

I always wonder what this ever-elusive "Empowerment" that women are supposed to be chasing feels like. WELL I think I found a little bit of it. It's a different kind of confidence. There's the kind of confidence where you feel good about yourself, blah blah blah. But THEN there's the confidence where you begin to walk through the world knowing you can handle shit. Knowing that you can DO things. You have knowledge and skills under you, and you bring those with you everywhere.I had to sell my truck canopy. So I post some ads, a bunch of men lowball me hard even though my price was reasonable. Finally, a guy comes through. We meet in the Costco parking lot. I go by "Benny" so I think he was surprised to see a girl rockin up in her beater. Well I pull up, we kick the tires and he gets over his conceptions about women and trucks. After we chat Truck Talk. I pull out my wrenches and we both get to work. No BS. He treated me like I knew exactly what I was doing. We both lifted my raised, double-walled canopy (HEAVY AF) onto his truck. Both of us carrying equal weight. I hop up into the box and get to work clamping it down while we chatted. It felt SO GOOD. I was like: what is this feeling??? I feel strong, capable, and handy working side by side with another strong and capable human, who is treating me like he would any other person. Not being "gentleman-like" or making rude jokes to me, or brushing me off. (All of which I constantly have to fight against) Very awesome!I love the feeling of just getting shit done. Stuff past me would have been insecure about, like haggling and standing my ground, doing the manual work, meeting a random man in a parking lot, now I can do without blinking. I feel like there's power and freedom in that.
