@amolith at the risk of being seen as the devil's advocate, I do think that many reasons are only valid for people caring about anonimity and not about privacy.My (possibly mistaken) understanding is that Signal is currently the best app there is to improve privacy globally by making user leave worse corporate apps.Signal's privacy-respecting features can be mostly checked thanks to the app being open-source and its main goal is to be "for the masses", hence some non-infosec priorities.

@arjen I find it very difficult not to use corporate software for videoconferencing with more than 2 persons... do you have any suggestions (please don't answer jitsi or jami, they do *not* scale)I'm usually extremely annoying about using libre software, but it's because I normally have a proper tool to propose... for videoconferencing I just don't :(

In a video from @fermilab they discuss the "true solution to the twin #paradox".https://tilvids.com/videos/watch/e838a1ce-4b2c-40f9-8583-8b2743ffe119I skipped #relativity to do organic chemistry instead (still think it was the right call) so I'm rather naive about this.However, I'm highly skeptical about the proposed "solution" to the twin "paradox" for several reasons, the main one being of course that the thought experiment is physically impossible (infinite acceleration and instantaneous information transfer).Any educated opinions?

when I say "impossible", I mean that it does not correspond to the situation of the traveling twin, of course the situation and math themselves are perfectly fine, they just seem (to me) irrelevant to the problem considered.

@NGIZero now that the EU is on the Fediverse (yay!), do you think this can give you/us additional traction to ask for planning/discussions/money about features that could help secure the network's future?I'm thinking in particular about (by increasing level of difficulty):- making sure that all platform have compatible "moved" actions so people can migrate cross-platforms- working on non-centralizing and privacy-repecting recommendations (e.g. hashtag-based)- working on nomadic identity
