@robpike Come live in Europe where it's already illegal under GDPR (https://gdpr.eu/email-encryption/#:~:text=What%20the%20GDPR%20does,it%20violating%20the%20GDPR.)…or try to get such law adopted where you live 🤷

@robpike Fwiw, GDPR is about EU citizens, wherever they live; a UK shop would assume (most of) its customers are British citizens, so the UK law would apply.…and yes, no GDPR there for almost 2 years now (and that's without accounting for GDPR compliance which is also rather low/bad).GDPR applies though if the shop explicitly targets EU citizens (e.g. allows paying in € and shipping in the EU)

@w3c Are they using w3.org for marketing? https://www.w3.org/community/blockchain-names/2023/02/05/the-blockchain-is-mainstream/Looks like you've been fooled by those scammers. Shut the group down, now‼

@vanilla HTML is not XML: no slash on void elements, omit (some) optional tags, omit quotes on attribute values that don't need them.

@vanilla Agree, except web component definitions are "JavaScript code you ship to the browser which is responsible for "wire up these tags to these functions/objects"".Agree this is how you should do that wiring though.

@vanilla Ah yes, if we're *only* talking about this, then totally agree: any other approach should be regarded as "legacy" nowadays (👋 Bootstrap, Materialize et al.)

@tomjennings @simon @jwildeboer Didn't Nokia build something similar into a couple phones back then? (~20 years ago)

@tomjennings @simon @jwildeboer Hmm, I searched a bit and it looks like Nokia (5140 at least) had the same (or similar) "push to talk over cellular", that required cellular infrastructure 🤷https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PoC_radio
