@spencerdupre what if we all hook lnbits up to our nodes and create lnurl paylinks? If we put those on our profiles, anyone can tip anyone else via lightning

@spencerdupre Sounds kind of custodial. But as long as it's optional all is well...unless regulators used that as a reason to crack down on nvk.Maybe tip could be noncustodial but if you do tip someone there's an optional setting which can upload the invoice+payment proof to some plugin thing if you want to make your tip public

@spencerdupre> But does it prove the amount? With lnurl, yes, because an amount is specified in invoices generated by the lnurl protocol and that amount is one of the parts of the invoice that gets signed by the payment recipient. So the invoice itself plus the proof of payment proves not only that the tip occurred but also what amount was tipped.> Maybe nvk would have a routing nodeYes, though Alice could open a direct channel to Bob or find a different route to Bob. But you're right.

@verretor @fiatjaf DMs can be implemented on the client side because every user has a pubkey which other clients can encrypt data to before relaying it. Making encrypted dms an event type is in the works.

@pedromvpg @bitcoincoreorg Any chance of getting this on umbrel? There's a framework for preparing apps for umbrel here: https://github.com/getumbrel/umbrel/blob/master/apps/README.md

@ck_SNARKs There is an important exception if you get interest on your coins by running lightning pool, joinmarket, or a routing node.

@Locksmith @Raynbo > The consensus of science is that door locks unnecessarily provoke increased aggression among assailants with violent intent. They thus put homeowners as well as trespassers at greater risk of enhanced-violence confrontations. Persuant to these findings, homeowners are henceforth prohibited from using or installing door locks and are urged to use surrender as their primary defense mechanism during cases of violent criminal trespass.
