@futurebird @sbourne @trachelipus Ozzie thinks that any time someone is chopping something on the cutting board, itās meat. He stretches up and stands on his hind feet. Sometimes I throw him a piece of celery to show him that itās not the kind of food he wants.

@zeldman The first thing I did when my work phone upgraded was turn off transparency on the keyboard. Otherwise, there are shadows moving behind it like some kind of window into the nightmare realm. I canāt type on top of that.

@futurebird Scientists are using AI to extract data from very large, noisy datasets. I do not know enough about the technology to know exactly what theyāre doing, but I can tell you theyāre not just feeding their data into ChatGPT. So in one sense, itās possible to get information about a large set of articles using AI, but the accuracy of the results would really depend on how heās doing it.

@futurebird @mycotropic @WhiteCatTamer @RanaldClouston @rk @bookstodon I like both Peter Hamilton & Adrian Tschaikovsky, and I think Children of Time is a good book of his to start with, but if you want something shorter & simpler, his book Alien Clay is a great standalone novel.

@NPR I had to turn off transparency so I can use the keyboard, because I canāt type with things behind the keys, especially moving things!Turning off transparency made every UI animation flash like lightning. It was giving me a headache, so I turned off animations.Now, the UI is all jerky & weird & half the time the buttons donāt register my fingers. #apple #iOS
