       @tauli Replies have pointed to Facebook as the driving force and whilst true, they aren't solely responsible. We have to acknowledge it's what a lot of the population want to do.I think it's a curious case as there are people who believe we should only ever use legal names. I don't agree but I can understand why they might come to the conclusion. Anonymity has its own downfalls, but we have to strike a balance between the extremes.

       @recj @Irick my unsolicited current theory is that it is futile selling people on concepts like decentralisation and open source. Rather it must be like the alt-meat industry, you sell people on the idea of reducing meat intake, that it’s a healthier alternative, not that you stop killing animals, those are bonuses as far as people are concerned. So a chat protocol needs a good interface today (not a promise that it gets better).

       @fribbledom dunno, my exposure to CSV, JSON and XML have generally been contextual to my work. When we want to bulk edit products in WooCommerce we export as an CSV, edit in a spreadsheet and import merge back and that is actually a time saver.
