@Rasp @GenderGP Yeah... The Abstract states "6 patients (0,3%) were encountered that either requested reversal surgery or transitioned back to their sex-assigned at birth." which is not the same as "regret"... paper itself is not published yet I think

@Rasp @MollyNYC @GenderGP and then there's also the question where the regret is coming from - in another study I saw a whule ago (I think that one stated ~5% of people having regrets) they talked about one mayor reasons being transphobic pressure from society

@MollyNYC @grayface_ghost @Rasp @GenderGP Your last sentence is obviously true. I don't think anyone here wants to deny that. Everyone should have all the support on their gender journey that they need, I mean, that's the whole point. But the marriage comparison is still strange imho. Of course gender identity and expression are fluid and can shift over the course of your life but they don't flip as binary as the end of a marriage. If your binary gender identity made you want to transition and go through with it at one point in your life you might come to the conclusion that you are actually genderqueer or nonbinary for example but you won't after 10 years of living as a woman suddenly realize "oops, I actually _am_ a cis male, nvm"

love a good timed, dry "that's gaay." - few years ago that was kind of a running gag between me and a friend, to the point that we used it everywhere, so there's some strangers who, since I'm not really clocked as gay usually, now propably think I'm a homophob, but hey 😅
