@espectalll Luckily (or not), Windows is the reason why UEFI replaced legacy BIOSes. It's a major improvement, but it's so over-engineered that it wraps back to being crap again.

@espectalll BTW it looks like SD Express is going to compete with this. Considering it's SD, it'll probably overtake it in no time unfortunately. It's really too bad that the SD protocols are proprietary, but at least NVMe is a semi open standard (PCIe is much more open but you need to buy a vendor ID and get your devices certified like with USB).
