Important lesson folks, when trolls or hate peddlers try and get you react in a certain way, whatever you do... DON'T. It's what they want, they feed off of it. If it's a troll it's so they can laugh at you. If it's a hate peddler, it's so they can play the victim and use it against you.Don't bite, don't give them what they want.

@jerry @alex_02 Lol, I always give a good chuckle when I see those on Reddit say that Lemmy/The Fediverse are "dead" and we all just "talk into the void" because "there's no content here." It makes it very apparent they haven't bothered to actually check out Lemmy, Mastodon, and the Fediverse at large.

@mavica_again I mean... there have been vulnerabilities in the past with other fairly common format stuff, such as PDF, font libraries, etc. Not sure this is all that great of a position to take, cause a vulnerability in something like PNG would be 10x worse than one for webp even...

@BrodieOnLinux I prefer not having my screen burn 24/7, so I much prefer just having it sleep instead. Plus, it's been ages since I saw screensavers come as a default on a system. For as long as I've been using Linux as a secondary (and now primary) mainstay, it's been something you've had to install separately, at least on Gnome-based systems.

@herzenschein That's because most icons are loaded externally as fonts. I have used the Google Material icons a lot, and also Bootstrap's as well. Its exceptionally handy when doing web design.

It's funny to me that people wanna complain about #AI powered #SEO "destroying the internet" when SEO barf has been a phenomenon for years now. Hell, Big Data powered SEO crap isn't new at all, I studied it in Data Analytics half a decade ago in college, and SEO Barf on search engines isn't anything new either, having been an issue for at least as long. People who want to say otherwise definitely haven't search on #Google for anything related to instructions, tutorials, or help tips in the last 5 years. #Bing, and other search sites powered by it like #DDG, have become just as bad now too. #Brave [Search](search.brave.com) seems a bit better currently, probably because its indexing algorithm is different, but I'm sure in time that will change.(Consumer facing) AI just made it more accessible to generate SEO barf, it didn't start it nor even carry it to where it is today. And if it dissappeared tomorrow, SEO barf would continue on just as it had, polluting search results for easy clicks funded by ads.

@arcanicanis In theory, you could setup a system that could like... Install a preset form of IPFS that each user hosts on their machine and connects to others via an interface to create a social-style network. It's not gonna be perfect, but it would be truly decentralized to the user level.
